So there I am, kicking back with QT-pi and we’re watching the season premiere of Family Guy, which is the eager awaited “Star Wars” episode. Over all, I enjoyed it, and found myself laughing at the show for the first time in a year or so. I’m watching Peter and kin play out the original Star Wars film when suddenly I spit out my ABA.
Seth MacFarlane has ripped me off. More acurately, he ripped off bortQ.
Anyone remember back to June 25, 2006?? I do, because it was the date that bortQ started posting his amazingly funny, insightful, and original work here. For those not in the know, and with a hole in your skulls, here’s the very first TeeDee comic bortQ did…
Now here’s the -original- cartoon bortQ did for Starlog magazine way before he started following me around…
Imagine my surprise seeing this -exact- gag on Family Guy, including having Watto being the one zapped as in the TeeDee version.
I guess bortQ should feel flattered. He’s now in the ranks of Matt Groening, and all the other fantasticly funny people that MacFarlane has made a career out of ripping off.

Should have mention BortQ when they were talking about Robot Chicken near the end of the show. Just means BortQ has joined has joined the ranks of the unsung heros of the Empire.
Then again, it’s hard to stay mad at someone who throws in a Gia reference at the begining of the show.

Yeah, when I first watched it, I gasped!! Then laughed! Then considered suing somebody… anybody!
But seriously, folks, it simply could be a case of it being a blatantly obvious gag that possibly every script writer, animator and cartoonist has done a version of this ever since The Phantom Menace **shudder**
And if they did “borrow” the gag, then I don’t mind. It’s Freakin’ Sweet. Hehehehehehe…
For those who haven’t seen the portion of the Family Guy in question, or want to see it again, here it is:
