Okay, I’m sure you’re all looking at the picture to the left and asking yourself what a Dwarf in a fadora carrying a battleaxe has to do with ADPoV?
Well, this is another one of those favors I try and pass on to you all from time to time. Everyone knows that so far, I haven’t produced a single podcast of my own yet, but here you are, my loyal fans. I figure I owe you something to tide you over whilst you wait for yours truely to get off his armored ass. There are some top notch podcast audiobooks out there and I’m here to endorse a few of them.
Billibub Baddings Podcast - This is an podiobook of the novel by Tee Morris, and it’s a real hoot. A fantasy Dwarf ends up in 1920s Chicago and becomes a detective. Sounds silly, right? Well, it would be, if not for the masterful writing of Tee Morris. The way he tells us this tale, it actually makes sense and deftly dodges the “silly” bullet with ease. It stars podcasters from all across the globe including Mur Lafferty (whom I have loved for a long time now), from Geek Fu Action Grip and Leann Mabry (Whom I have just fallen in love with…. I know that I wax on and on about alien babes, but a TD sammich between these two? I’d like to place my order, please.), from Tag in the Seam. It also stars Phil Rossi, Orion, Paul S Jenkins, and the late, great, Joe Murphy, all in supporting roles that breath life into this story and really help you become immersed in it. Plus, I have a teeny-tiny bit part in it as well in the last two episodes, so it’s gold, right?
Heaven: Parts 1 -3 - Mur Lafferty (Whom I love) spins this yarn about the afterlife, or rather, the afterlives of two freinds, Kate and Daniel as they travel from one heaven to the next “on a mission from Gad”. (Imagine Dan Ankroid saying that for it to make sense.) I think this was my very first Podiobook that I subscribed to and listened to religiously. (Heaven….religiously…there’s a joke in there somewhere) I have always loved Mur’s writing, and this story of hers showcases why publishers are dimwits since she hasn’t hasn’t gotten this published on paper yet.
Seventh Son Trilogy - JC Hutchings gives us an epic thriller with a pinch of sci-fi that is one hell of a ride. It follows the lives of seven clones who are brought in by a secret agency to stop a madman from casusing some very, very severe crap globally. The man the must stop? The person they were cloned from, John Alpha. The author’s talent as a writer is matched by his talent as a voice actor, as JC reads/performs the entire series himself and without postproduction effects, provides all the voices in a manner that’s very convincing. Within the first two words of any given dialoge, you’ll know exactly who’s speaking, trust me. The man’s going to be a force to be reckoned with.
The Rookie - Now, I’m not much of a sports fan. Never have been, probably never will be. (Although Roller Derby and Pillow Fighting are sports I could see myself getting into) and despite that, Scott Sigler has netted me with this tale of a young man’s accension from the small time to the big leagues of Football. How did he manage to get my interest and keep it? The entire story is in space. Yup, Sci-fi Football, and I’m loving this game. The protagonist, Quinten Barnes, needs to be punched in the junk a few times because he’s just a arrogant jackass most of the time, but hey, I guess that’s what sports are all about, and he fits very well into the “jockstrap aristocrocy”. All that aside, I really enjoyed this podiobook, and eagerly await the next book in the series.
That should get you all started for now. More to come later. Remember, tell them TD-0013 sent you!

You, sir, have many talents. You are more than just your clone-filled stormtrooper suit… er… okay, okay, you’re a ‘real person.’

What I mean is your intros to Billi. “If you don’t have enough boxtops, just tell your mom, ’smoke more!’” LOL
